Simple things you hate doing?

And maybe you should trade Rusty #2 in for a horse and buggy. Since older is better, that should be all you need.
No. I always felt vehicles peaked from the late 60s to 1980 or so. That would put both rustys on the top side of the downhill, but still way closer to peak then an amishmobile

Yup... We don’t need all this “new” technology...
Damn electric starters... bring back hand cranks!
LED lights... whatever happened to whale oil lanterns?
Cars :pissedoff:... Conestoga wagons pulled by a team of oxen were so much better!

Where exactly was the correct amount of technology that we should have stopped at?
Carburators w/climatic choke. duraspark ignItion, and vacuum shifted 3 speed trannys and 4 speed manuals.

Think late 60s to 80 or so.

I vote we go back to walking everywhere!

Heck yeah.... and forget shoes and clothes. Life was so much simpler when we were running around in the jungle naked, or swinging from tree to tree......

Putting on socks, there's a modern abomination for ya.....

Changing light bulbs.

Flushing the toilet.

Where does it end?!?!?!?!?!? Gaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.........................

We can stop right now...
Cheetos Popcorn has been invented....nothing else is needed.

For a project vehicle (play toy) I like the 80's the best. Everything is on the table for upgrades.

Want to ditch the CFI for the carb you hold near and dear? Intakes aplenty. Want to ditch the CFI for multiport fuel injection? Systems aplenty and it was probably an option in a couple years anyway. Rear disks? They are out there. Want to add cruise or A/C? Just do it, you don't have to rewire the space shuttle to do so. For the "I want options" people like myself, IMO the 80's is a great starting point to go a bunch of different directions.

I hate driving with my snooty gal friend when we’re going to pick up something she bought (the only time she’ll get in!). All the way there and back she’ll complain about what a redneck I am. But she does thank me when we’re done
bruh... she is too high maintenence if what you drive determines your class status lol My wife hates my Ranger too, but only because it drives like a truck and she has had a few bad experiences with it. she is fine riding in it, just does not want anything to do with driving it lol

My wife drove mine once.

I put a manual in it to end that nonsense. :stop:

I know it defies popular opinion but truthfully my most reliable DDs (with the exception of rusty #1) all were 77-79 Fords, trucks, cars, dont matter. They mighta been kinda slow, somewhat thirsty, and had their quirks, but i never had a major issue and i could neglect the piss out of them and theyd keep on going. And take the abuse id dish out. Thats a winner in my book any way you slice it.

I don't like grinding...

Weld for 1 minute.... grind for 20.

I wish I could see better... there would be far less grinding.

I think its funny how everyone seems to *think* they need the newest this or that or whatever...when that stuff was perfectly fine back then. Maybe people dont need to drive 65mph on a 2 lane 6inches off someones ass end bumper.

They dont look past 6 inches in front of their bumper...

Here in Los Angeles, its 6 lanes wide of Prius' going 58 1/3 mph, including the carpool lane! 99% of drivers dont realize the left lane is for passing and slower traffic keeps right. 65 or 85 or 35, the left lane is for passing!

When someone is on my ass and I am in the left lane, that means I should speed up or move over. It is annoying when I am doing that and theyre still riding my ass lol, but hey it worked we all got out of each others way...

I dont get how they can feel safe barreling along perfectly next to each other in parallel, when they could easily stagger a bit or fall in single file. But then I look over and see oblivious blank stares.

I should start recording some of stuff I see, its like worlds dumbest drivers x10

Use nice high amp plug in (not cordless) grinder, with a good grinding stone or a really coarse flap disc and try different brands, some remove metal faster than others.

Also if you are really good with a grinder (and really bad with a welder), they have "thin" cut off wheels you can get in there with and slice the top chunk of weld off instead grinding down all the way.

Grinding a weld for aesthetic purposes is a mortal sin.
