Quite honestly whoever thinks Chevy's ride like bricks, hasn't been in a 03+ one.
Not to defend Chevys, cause I really dislike them, but they really do ride pretty good. They're also good for nothing, squat with the slightest load and ride on the bumpstops with a plow on the front. You know things trucks are meant to do. I mean as they sit stock, there's only 1.5" at most before the bumpstop.

That being said, they say all this truck has for suspension upgrades is a 4" lift...
A soft riding, weak suspension relocated with chinsy brackets. Or possibly just different spindles and torsion bars cranked up.

The Raptor actually has a desert tested and tuned suspension under it. One that's had the crap beat out of it then improved, and tested some more until perfect.

That ZR2 is nothing more that the typical Chevy owner's truck. Gobs of horsepower because he is "small", Poor excuse for a "big" suspension because he is "small", Impressive wheels and body to improve self image because he is "small".
Just a bunch of prettiness and big numbers to make up for something that actually "performs".

A guy I used to work with bought an 05 Chevy 2500HD Duramax 2wd. The front suspension literally sits ON the bumpstops all the time, even with an empty bed and on level ground.

Ya. I will definatly pass on that chevy last minute try to get attention getter. I would love a raptor for sure. But production will proabably be to limited for me to ever get one. Guess Ill try for the new Taurus SHO.

if you go on the website in post one and start readin most of the chevy guys are puttin this ZR2 down who puts carbon fiber on an off road vehicle no-one you use some cheap fiberglass so its not expensive when u wreck cause if your serious about wheelin you will wreck if you all havent noticed this is one subject i get pretty pissed over chevy tryin to keep up with ford hell chevy cant keep up with honda trucks or even Mitsubishi they should just call it quits like they were goin to do in the beginning instead of wasting my tax dollars (cause the goverment was so gracious to make that decision) making trucks that has a 6' by 10' grill cause they think it looks good... WELL IT DOESNT

I've disliked any new trucks(Chev or Ford) for many years now. This truck, while an interesting concept, seems overdone. Carbon fiber rocker panels...really?
On a side note, I saw a Raptor out at a local off road park. While it was fairly capable off road in the easy stuff, I was rather disappointed with the lack of front ground clearance. For an IFS "off road" truck with 35's, I was expecting a lot more.

Chev's aren't so overzealous with their use of factory lift blocks, like Ford and Dodge. That's my theory, but to each their own

My boss's Chevy 4x4 3500 05 dually is tough as nails. I put a cattle trailer on it....... drove it 65 miles yesterday and it pulled great, and rode well, no excessive squat. but it's not a good offroader, and I find the body to be uggly as sin.

My dodge dually would have pulled it better (extremely modded engine and trans) and it wouldn't have squatted at all........... and it would have been rough enough to beat you half to death on the roads I was taking.

My dads F-250 would have rode just as rough and would have strained the engine like hell up the hills.

Granted the Z-R2 is gay all the comments those posters made were gay, guess what.......... if you get down to it the Raptor is just as uggly with it's flashy paint scheme and crappy new style body, and just as useless.

All this talk about serious off road, and racing, and hardcore wheeling............ you really gonna drop 50k on a truck and then join the tough truck association? If you were "SERIOUS" off-roader....... you'd build one your own damn-self. not rely on a factory thats going broke right now with a bunch of po'd employees building it for you, ford dodge or chevy.
