Hey guys had a question .

I just installed my 16x8 wheels with 32" MTs When I drive above 50 if I loosen my grip on the wheel it shimmies back and forth real fast or if I hit a bump it sets the wheel shimying until I slow or hold the steering wheel real tight.
Obviously with bigger tires steering input and feel will change but is this normal?
The tires are wild country rvt just had them balanced but this is a sideways shake not the out of balance or out of round shake im used to feeling.

I did have 29" all season with no issues only slight vibration with old tires/wheels

anyone Know where to start lookin? :dunno:

Rotate the tires and then try it again. Sounds like a tire balance issue or a bad tire.

Ok ill swap them around a bit but if its a balance issue Im gonna drive them up the ars of the guy who just balanced them on Monday lol.

What did you mean by a bad tire? I know its not sleeping with my wife but are you saying its deffective and how would one check such a thing?

Dirt I did lose some weight thanks for noticing... seriously though Ive been wondering about the small vibration I used to have and wondered if it could be a wheel bearing but figured it was the Ol drive shaft. How do I check the front bearings? Ive jacked it up and spun the tire but Im 50% deaf and also my brakes make a little noise so I cant hear them even if they do make noise.

The only wheel bearings Ive had go bad were on my Audi and I didnt notice till the tire wobbled (about 800 miles from home) Im sure it made noise before that b ut like I said Im pretty deaf lol

With the tire off the ground grab the top of the tire and see if it moves in and out, think push/pull the tire toward/away from the engine bay. If you have movement the bearing is bad. Mine was bad, didn't make a noise other than a wub wub wub sound when turning. Easy to replace too.
