I have 2 thrust washers that are .030" thick, and I need them to be .023" thick, any ideas how to shave .007"?
(I've been sanding them for about 30 min straight (180 grit), and I think they got thicker)

180 it way too course. try 600 wet. and why do you need them thinner? if its for a lockright just put them in there. if it is for a locker, 7 thou isnt going to make or break it.

Well, its per the manufacturers specs (Aussie Locker), and its actually .014 total. Now I'm sure he couldn't tell me that was OK for liability reasons, but the gap I have is .136, and he said I need to be at min .145, ideally .150.
Think thats OK?

.01 of an inch? You do realize how small that is, don't you? It will probably be fine.

Mine was under that spec in my D35 and I ran it anyway....a year later still no issues from it.
