I have a 2009 4 cylinder auto ranger that is dropping in rpms when coming to a complete stop after the truck reaches operating temp (doesn't do it when cold). I just changed the valve body gasket which fixed the hard shifting issue 100%. I'm almost positive this issue I'm having was present before the valve body repair, but I could be mistaken. I can tell the torque converter isn't disengaging, because when I put it in neutral befoee coming to a stop, there is no shudder present.
So far, I have replaced the TCC solenoid and tried the shudder fix additive and there hasn't been any improvement. I must add that I did use new Mercon fluid instead of Mercon V fluid by accident when I refilled. I don't see that causing this issue, but worth noting...
The truck has 100k on it.
