It's on craigslist.. he fixed 90% of the problems it had.

I don't know what to do here guys. I know it was having tranny problems when I sold it, and it's only 2wd. But seeing it on there and thinking about having it back is driving me crazy.

What issues did the new owner fix on it? What would you gain from purchasing it? With me, I have seen my old vehicles back up for sale, but even with the memories I have with them it still won't feel like "my" old truck after someone else bought it from me.

bought my old ranger back, best decision ever. had a bad timing belt put a new one on and been driving it since with no issues, nothing like owning your first truck again

I literally know everything that ever went wrong with this truck. I know that the tank seal needs to be replaced, I know that the nut on the power steering pump leaks and needs to be fixed, and I know the extent of the rust on the truck and prettymuch everything that's happened with it in the past four years. He litterally only put a few hundred miles on it.

He replaced the oil pan, and a TON of other parts.

Brake lines replaced
Seafoam treatment
Transmission lines replaced
Battery (Optima Red Top)
Exhaust welded and fixed
Oil pressure sensor replaced
Front bumper replaced with one that can had a valance for the fog light install
Fod lights added
Alternator replaced
Thermostat replaced - old was not broken - this was preventative
All cooling hoses replaced
Radiator cap replaced with OEM 16 PSI Motorcraft cap
Fold up ramps purchased to fit inside cab
Transmission fluid and filter changed
Tires replaced (BFGOODRICH All-Terrain T/A KO) - $800
Alignment corrected
RABS wheel speed sensor replaced
PCV valve replaced
Transmission mounts replaced

I sold it in September for $800 dollars, he's asking 1500. The tires alone make up the difference there, and all the reasons why I sold it have been fixed.

I am going to check it out tomorrow at 2pm. The chances that I'll buy it are pretty high.

Hook us up with a link man! :icon_thumby:

I'll link when I decide if I'm buying it or not. I don't want anyone to jack it on me haha.

LOL, makes sense. My friend has bought 2 different Mustangs back from the people he sold them to. In one case the car was better, the other it was worse. But, the best test is to drive it and see if it feels right.

Well, if everything is fixed (except your morbid fear of driving on slippery roads, IIRC) then it's probably worth it...

yeah u got over that?
if its fixed and when u test it it feels like its fixed. get it back :icon_thumby:

since you know everything that ever went wrong with it, make a list make a friend memorize it, send them to look at the truck have them point out of the negative things and talk the price down a bit. since he probably remembers you, you might not have a very good chance at haggling, but a stranger thats pointing things out that are wrong might work.

i say do it, like i said i bought mine back and dont regret it one bit.

You know you are going to do it, so just do it.

Well, he texted me tonight while I was at work and said that he sold it and the guys picking it up and paying for it tomorrow morning. He said if it falls through he'll give me a call. I'm just going to assume that the other guys buying it, so looks like I'm SOL on this one. I'll keep looking.. all the good trucks are out of the area too far for me to get.

I'm going to keep an eye on craigslist for it.. maybe it will pop up again. Who knows.

I just didn't want to put it in the ditch again, I got lucky the first time. If I bought it (which I won't be, sadly) I would only drive it in the summer to keep the cancer off it.
