Should I buy it?????? Please help

Hi all,I'm looking at a 94 Explorer Sport 4x4 5-speed(M5OD-R1?) electric t-case. The guy said he put a new slave cly. and clutch in about 15k ago. His son took the tuck to pull a Jeep out of a ditch and now it wont shift into any gear. Would this point to the shift forks?
I would love to get this truck but I don't want to get in over my head. Anything I can check before I buy?

it might be the cluch, when mine went i could not shift it at all, well you got to think if its a deal you cant pass up get it , pulling the tranny and t-case is a pretty easy job if you have a floor jack, id say get it if you really want it , cant be that hard to fix, the presher plate is probly bad.

If it's the clutch, the truck will often shift fine with the engine off. But it won't if the shift linkage is broken.

$500... its in good shape as far as rust and dents and its only suposed to have 84k on it.

buy it, u can buy a trans for $100 from most junkyards and put it in in a weekend, i see those trucks in decent shape around me sell for 3k on average, also where is your location, if u need help with the trans im sure a member of the board would help out for gas money and lunch

its a lil far for me at 4 hours one way. But I've got my truck loaded with tools at all times ready for a service call.

Rusty is pretty close to you.
It may not even be the clutch or trans but, we need a little more info.
Does it shift into gears but, not do anything? Does it flat out refuse to go into any gear? does in whine when you try to put it in a gear(running)?
The price is good, The body alone is worth more than that.
