I had a 2000 Passport that looked almost identical to that. Bought it brand new. In 2000 the Rodeo and Passport were updated up front with crystal headlights and slightly revised styling. The Rodeo also got crystalized taillights (the Passpost did not but I swapped in Rodeo taillights anyway) The Amigo also got the same updates as the Rodeo as well has a name change to Rodeo Sport. All Passport for the most part interchange with it's Rodeo counterpart of the same year/generation.
Gen 1 Rodeo 89-97
Gen 1 Passport 94-97
Gen 2 Rodeo 98-04
Gen 2 Passport 98-02 (replaced by Honda-built Pilot)
I have to say I loved that truck. Actually saw it driving around town recently and was tempted to see if they wanted to sell it, even though it is a little beat up now (I kept it perfect). I like the ones with the wheel mounted on the back a lot better than the ones mounted underneath. Compared to yours I also added Isuzu Axxiom 17" wheels / tires, OEM fog lights (same as Ranger where everything was prewired) tinted the windows and added tube side steps and a rear window deflector
Like I said, I loved that truck but it did have issues. Now I drove 60 miles round trip every day in it so I did put miles on it. When it was 3.5 years old, the tranny started leaking. Went to dealer as soon as I noticed it and thought it was fixed, but then the tranny failed. Dealership replaced under extended warranty. Horn also locked up (embarrassingly on the way home one night a 2am). Dealership had to replace whole center section of steering wheel (including airbag). Also replaced under extended warranty. Finally, around 89k miles, at an oil change, dealership noticed it was consuming oil and there was a slight tick. Issue most likely would not be covered by extended warranty so I traded the car in (on a rainy night where they didnt notice the tick). 3 months later I saw it parked in a local repair lot for over a week. Prob getting major repair work done.
Now, if I did not have an extended warranty, it may have changed my opinion of the truck. Funny, every time I took it to Honda for one of the above noted repairs, they would find a way to tell me it was "not a real Honda". But they were always happy to help me because they saw how nice I kept it (and the extended warranty said they had to, lol).
Also had front wheel bearings done at Firestone for $140 with no issue
I would say if the price is right, go for it and keep an eye on it. Heck, if I am in a situation where I can buy mine back I might.
