Your askin if a auto from a explorer has 5 gears? If so no
The A4LD and 5R44E behind 4.0L explorers had 4 gears
The 5R55E behind 4.0L explorers had 5 gears
The 4R70W behind 5.0L explorers had 4 gears
The newer explorers with 4.0L or 4.6 with the 5R55S or 5R55w have 5 gears.
The 5R55E behind 4.0L explorers had 5 gears
The 4R70W behind 5.0L explorers had 4 gears
The newer explorers with 4.0L or 4.6 with the 5R55S or 5R55w have 5 gears.

Work with what? It will work behind a 4.0L or 4.6L with the computer (they have a huge program!).
