I need to replace my shocks on my 3L V6 2002 Ranger 2WD. It is bouncing all over the road when i hit a bump. I am looking at shocks,so many to pick from, monroe, kyb, rancho. Any one better than another? I am going to be towing a boat appx 2500 pounds with it. I don't want air shocks though.

2 more questions-how do i tell if i have torsion bar suspension? Its a standard 2wd with the extended cab. Also,do i have to take off the bed to get at the shock to take it off/put it on?Thanks!

i stay away from monroe like the plague but thats just me
as know your other question...
you shouldn't have torsion bar but to make sure, look under neath and see if you have to shaft's connecting from your lower control arms to about 3 feet back on the frame
as for the rears you do not need to take the bed off there on hangers at the lower side of the frame....
hope this helps

sounds good, thanks for the info. taking the bed off is a pain,i thought somehow the bolts were right under it. i'll have to check the torsion bars, ive never seen one that i know of. hopefully it doesnt have them

I had KYB AGX shocks on my Miata, never had any problems with them. I gave them to a friend of mine when I went with TEIN Flex, that's why I no longer have them.

I'm looking at Rancho 5ks for my Ranger.
