shocks and springs

I just insured my truck and took it onto the gravel for the first time. It was pretty rough. The washboards had me jumping from one side of the road to the other. So the question is, what kind of springs and shocks are you guys running? I'm not looking to lift it, I just want something that can handle the old logging and mining roads I spend all my time on. Thanks for any input.

I think the 64" chevy spring swap and shackle mount flip would help you out. Sloue [no longer active] out in sask. swears by the swap for washboard. I did the same but don't have the experience with washboard to compare with the previous springs. Then probably an adjustable shock.
Good luck,

Richard

I don't really think any shock or spring is going to keep you from bouncing around on washboard raods, even a brand new truck will slide and bounce around on those types of roads, its just something you have to live with driving a pickup where there's hardly any weight in the back end to keep it planted.

I do know that if you have a 4WD that it does help by having the truck in 4WD on these types of roads because it gives traction to all 4 wheels somewhat keeping the truck from sliding around as much as there's more weight up front and the front wheels tend to stay on the ground more helping to keep you going forward and kind of just dragging the back end with you as you go.

If weight is the problem, why not do what we do around here for ice? Throw half a rick of firewood in the bed. Or you could just do like I do and carry all my tools with me everywhere.
