looking for some suggestions on what shim stack i should run on my front shocks. i have 2.0 14" swayaways with a 300/400 spring rate. its a 1993 ranger. just wanna get an idea so i have somewhere to start.

well, how is the truck handling? IF you could get a video of your truck through whoops, rough stuff, and what not that would really help in aiding what you want for valving and which direction to head in for it.

it seems a little stiff but i'll try and get some video or something tomorrow maybe.

hmmm i might lean toward the some softer springs, not valving. I think a 300/400 is a bit stiff for these trucks. Id PM Dave and pick his brain as he has alot more experience with the front ends of these things.

When you hit a bump/jump hard to make the suspension really collapes, does it spring back up super quick and almost make the truck "bounce" so to speak?

Leave the spring rate as is for now. For rebound run .008s on the 2 largest shims and .010s on the rest. For compression run .015s. If that feels to stiff for compression run .012s on the largest shim and the rest .015s.

awesome i'll give that a shot and see how it goes. i was just lookin for something to start with. i'll still try and get a video tomorrow or even if your in town 84 we can head out and see if you have any more suggestions. thank you once again dave!
