I have a 2000 Ranger (Supercab, 4wd, 3.0) with 72,800 miles. I am looking for recommendations for shocks; looking to spend no more than $50 per shock. I'm looking for a comfort ride . . . the vehicle is pretty much driven on road, it's not used for towing and hauling is limited to the occasional trip to Home Depot.

I'm currently looking at the Monroe Sensa-Tracs.

Thoughts or recommendations?

Rancho, Pro Comp, and Tuff Country are what I recommend, in that order.

I love the ride of my Ranchos. You will be amazed in the difference of ride quality and steering control/confidence between off-road and stock/Monroe ($16 cheap replacements from Auto Zone, they were actually worse than stock) shocks.

Bilsteins I hear are the best for sure. I bought pro comp es9000's. Nothing special but for $142.00, they work great. I've got no complaints about em. Front end bounces nice over bumps. Rear is stiff because of my leaf springs. Ohh and my truck came with rancho shocks. They were beat to crap and didn't do anything so I can't say good or bad about them.
