My 1987 bronco 2's auto is a little slow in shifting in overdrive. It sometimes takes 2-3 miles before it finally shifts in. Once it's in it's fine until I stop or downshift. Filter/oil change or vaccum mod??? Any ideas?:icon_confused:

Check the gear on your VSS. Both sides. In t-case and the sensor itself.

vss? Where is it located on the transfer case? Is it vaccuum controlled?

The VSS is in the transfer case and it's electric controlled. If the gears on it are slipping it will mess up your shifting. Trust me... Been there.I don't think the vacuum does anything for OD

Bad vacuum modulator would cause weird/late shifts in all gears. There is a 3-4 shift solenoid that could be part of the cause, as could fluid level.
