Shifter woes!

Please help my brother has a very nice 88 single cab short bed 2.9 4x4 with the dreaded mitsushity transmission, and the shifter has so much play in it that when putting it into 1st while in four wheel drive it knocks the transfer case lever and pops it into neutral! I can not find a bushing kit , nor replacement shifter assembly anywhere. please help any and all advice is welcome!

I got my bushings for my M5OD here talk to parts educated helpful crew a lot of tranny parts in inventory.Ship same or next day.
