b4000 5speed im having problems getting into 1st and 3rd gear. I kinda have to rock it back to 2nd then straight into 1st. What could be the problem? Some bushing?

I have similar problems in my f-150/m5od-r2. It ended up getting stuck in third gear but after fiddling with it for quite a few hours was able to pop it out and use it again.I went to a tranny shop and I was told that the shift forks were getting worn.I could fix it by dropping the trans and swapping out the top portion of the trans containing the shift forks, swap the tranny as a whole, or drive carefully and not shift too quick. I opted for the third option. I don't know how much this will apply in your case as they are not the same trans, but it should give some food for thought.
Good luck,

Richard

shifting into first is usually harder for some reason. i always rock 2nd to first just incase so i wont have to force it

There is a bushing in the stick you can see it in tech library picture I think.Either way do a search not hard to replace see if that helps.

Have you checked the fluid level in the Clutch Master cylinder Reservoir? Your clutch pedal bracket could be worn/elongated causing the clutch not to fully engage. Had same problem on my 96 Ranger
