Has anyone ever gotten a shifter rebulid kit for there m5od? Just worndering how good it works and maby any tips on installing it.:dntknw:

Didn't realize the M5OD shifters wore out, the pivot ball is steel instead of plastic like the mitsus...

Yah the bushings im mine are missing an my shifter will swing an hit the dash in gear!

It is as simple as pulling the shift knob off, unscrewing the trim ring and pulling the shift boot with it. then remove the shifter (17mm nut IIRC), thread the nut on to the other side of the bolt and use it to pull the bolt out. Then remove the 3 torx screws that you see. Take the old parts out if they are there, put the new ones in in the same order. Re-assemble. Done.

The tech library has the part numbers so you can get the parts from ford if you want instead of paying for shipping and some extra cost that someone is charging to make money off of this "kit".

Durr, I forgot about the bushing, I'm used to the plastic pivot ball in the mitsus...

Just got rebulid in the mail. It took me 3omin to install an was weel worth the $35 bucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
