I have a 2000-20004 ford mustang shifter knob that i really like. Before i go out and test it, i was wondering if it was possible to put it on my 2000 ranger? I currently have a stupid cobra shifter knob that is made out of plastic on there.

Also, what about a pontiac fiero shifter knob? That would be sweet!

I think the Mustangs are threaded while the Rangers have a splined/knurled attachment. Know they change things from year to year and models. There are people out there that will make you a custom knob if wanted.

Like Mac says, my '99 Mustang Cobra has a threaded knob (I've replaced it) and my '90 Ranger M50D-R1 has a splined knob (it fell off and I had to put it back on).

i fitted a 05 mustang gt shift knob on my 99

all i did was to cut down the lip it had for the mustang shifter boot, enlarged the hole a bit and cut like half inch from the shifter so it will sit flush with the rubber boot.

The stang knob does not fit, the fiero knob does, however. The one i have is brown, so whenever i go to the junk yard next ill find a black one.
