i have a 93 with the A4LD/4.0 combo. the engine is out right now, so i thought it would be the perfect time to look into the steering linkage/shifter assembly looking like its rotted away and held together with a friggin coat hanger. i cant seem to find a cable replacment online. do they exist, or am i looking to hard and should just call the regular car parts place in the morn?

i assume is a ball and socket connection on the end of the steering assembley, and...well i completely forget whats at the tranny. same thing? can i just pop it off and oil the hell out of it if no replacements are easily had?

Update:

replaced the steering colum by combining componants from a junker assembly and mine. got everything working smooth. the ball socket assembly just needed a retainer clip inserted that i stole from the junk drawer. oiled the cable and seems to be working great!
