shift motor

just bought a new shift motor and it only has 7 pins.It doesn,t have the eight pin for the brown wire going to the transfer case.Why

Because that wire stays with the transfer case.

The proper procedure is to remove the brown wire's pin from the connector on the old motor and plug it into the new one.
