So, i've tried several shift motors I have, none of them shift the case far enough to engage 4wd.

i've also tried different 4x4 control modules as well. one combination (new CM old motor) gets it close, but its still not fully engages and slips out and bangs. Not good.

shifting the case manually with pliers its fully engaged and works great. but using pliers sucks. is someone still making the Shiftster? or does anyone have one they want to sell?

or is there some way to make the shift motor go farther?

Advance adapters is selling the shiftster, apparently they bought the rights to it

hmm. I can't seem to find it on their website. Google showed me one on the russian site but it goes nowhere when clicking, do you have a link?

I finally got my Shiftster recently, directly from the guy who designed and builds them. There was a funky shopping website I used. Will try to find it tomorrow.

Buying my wife was less complicated. What does this nonsense look like?

The website was Shopify. But the link doesn't work any more. If I had the time and new he wouldn't mind, I would try to duplicate it. The worst part is making the triangle hole that fits on the t-case shaft. A custom broach would solve that problem easily. The rest is very simple.

My turret punch a picture and my lawyer could probably have 100 made by monday. :icon_rofl:

If its on shopify the guy is out of business.

We drilled a set screw hole in the gear hub from a bad shift motor, it will work as a large knob, the teeth on the gear can work as indexing. but that's as far as we got for now, it's sitting on the bench until spring I guess.
I mean I guess I could use one of my shift motors for parts to make my own

He's a member here on this site. But I don't know how often he checks in.

The turret lathe my uncle-in-law recently sold would have been perfect for turning out the rotating piece of the shiftster. Then broach/punch the triangle hole and have the mounting plates done on a plasma cutter. It would be easy to turn out a dozen or two on a Saturday once or twice a month and that would probably keep up with demand pretty easily.

500 mile update, working like a charm. Have been through some pretty deep snow and havent had any issues with 4x4 now that I can shift it manually.
