Shift knob!

So I have been trying to find a way to put an aftermarket threads on my shifter for a while now, what have you guys done or done in the past? P.s. the shifter I'm wanting to put on is 6in so any ideas for cutting the shifter down too with it being square?

I haven't done this. But if you need to cut the shifter down shorter, just cut it. Then drill and tap a hole to accept a stud that matches the threads you need for the new shift knob.
