Shaving implements....

eeeeh I broke down and bought this earlier

I bought an el~cheapo at Shoppers a few months ago and didn't realize it had one of those trimmer blades...kept slicing into my nose with the danged thing...so now I use the old standby electric...

But if anyone needs a quick fix, I used to work in a turkey processing plant and had the glorious job of burning the fine hairs off their defeathered bodies with a blow torch...

If you adjust the settings on the torch low and keep it away from your skin it will remove the airs in a few seconds...works best on about three days growth...just give your skin a nice douse of fire extinguisher #5 afterwards for that great cooling effect...drives the nurses wild too....:)

I never adjusted to an electric razor, because even when the blades are very sharp there is an element of "plucking" of the hairs that I just couln't adjust to.

The twin track razors are good for getting a close shave, but remembering
that I was just beginning to shave when they were still relatively new
I found that I spend almost as much time either brushing the hairs out from between those closely spaced blades (with a etired toothbush) or rapping the razor handle against the sink to knock them out was just annoying.

the triple and quadruple blades are in my mind a rediculous gimic, and their prices are simply obscene.

so about 10 years ago I went to an "old school" double edge "Safety razor"
because when it gets clogged with that oh so charming combination of bits of hair and soap you can open it up and get that junk out by holding it under the running water...

So what does everyone use and why?

I'm getting tired of my old electric shaver, it's lasted well over 10 years and I think it needs new blades at the least (replaced them once or twice before). But I don't think it does all that great of a job even with new blades. It's an old Remington DA307 with a double foil and pop-up trimmer. And I have a Norelco T7500 beard trimmer thing that I've rebuilt at least two times, lol.

Still hesitant to go to a straight razor though... just the whole putting an extremely sharp set of blades on your face seems a bit crazy. (I have used them in a pinch though and have one in my "weekend" duffel). If I have to though I might seriously consider it.

Bottom line though is that I hate shaving, I'd rather spend those extra few minutes elsewhere during each day, but since I'm now the boss, I have to stay looking presentable :icon_twisted:

You know, I used to use an electric razor for the longest time. But then for some reason I went back to using the good old fashioned shaving cream and a mach 3 razor. It takes less time for me to shave that way, and it typicallyd does a better job!. It also 'pulls' less.
