Shaving implements....

I've been using a straight for a bit over a year now. Wouldn't use anything else. Love stropping the blade and whipping up the lather with my badger hair brush.

Do you have more irritation with a straight razor, or less? I'm talking in comparison to a mach 3 for example.

I never learned how to use a straight razor so this is what I use.

but that one gets me perfectly smooth and even does my throat just fine with a little bit of work. No irritation anywhere.

The little cradle thing next to it is actually a charging and cleaning station. After each shave you pop it in and bush a button and it cleans itself so it works just like new for the next shave. You have to replace the alcohol cartridge once a month but that's only a few bucks.

i have a really thick beard, so electric ones dont work that fine for me
i got a braun, dont remember what model lol, but i preffer regular razors because the electric one always pulls my beard lol

i use a ricer gillette lol

OMG I use the same razor....

^ That makes three of us. Oh yeah, I've got a nice little Whal beard trimer.

BTW, the Gileete razors are still made in the USA, right in Boston, Ma too.

I'm with the Topher and the Mach 3. I've used about every electric out there and the Braun's work best for me - except on my neck. That's what I use the Mach 3 for.

Less by far. I've tried most types of shaving out there and my combination of sensitive skin and PITA barbed-wire curly hair makes for an irritating shave no matter what unfortunately. However, when I was using a Schick Quattro, I couldn't go against the grain at all. If I did, my neck would end up covered in blood. With my straight, I do two against the grain passes on my face and one on my neck and end up with only minor irritation.

I'd recommend that all of you look into double edge/safety razors. You'll get at least the same, most likely higher, quality shave and save tons of money over buying cartridge refills.

Also, I highly recommend going to badgerandblade.com. That site has the answer to every shaving question you can come up with, and if you decide to try a different method of shaving, the classifieds there are cheaper than anywhere else.

Same here man, electric razors suck. Do you have a mirror in your shower or something? I don't understand that part... I can't imagine that I could see wtf I'm doing.

That's exactly it. Get one of those fogless shower mirrors (mine has a radio...) and go to it.

I only use electric. I got fed up with Remington so I switched to this Panasonic one that Target had. It was about $90. I use it with shaving cream and so far it is awesome. It also has this ultra sonic cleaning mode that ACTUALLY cleans the blades in about 20 seconds and NO cleaning solution required.

i got me one of those fancy deals..not sure what its called but its a razor on one side and the other side has a trimmer. i think its gillette not sure but it takes a AAA battery and it works pretty good IMO

i still have the same mach3 i got back in high school for registering with the selective service, i just buy new blades every now and then. i run my own business, so i only shave when it starts itching or i have to go somewhere fancy

WHAT?!?! I want a radio in my shower. Where did you pick that up at? :D

Glad to see you around, haven't talked with ya for awhile, might have to do something about that sometime soon

I thought you knew I vanished off the face of the earth periodically...

It was either WalMart or Bed Bath and Beyond. Fairly inexpensive (less than $20) and worth every cent. Name on it says jWIN.

edit: Looks like Toys R Us had it too, but it's out of stock in the online store:

Flip the little handle around and it hangs up. Comes with suction cups and a rope to hang it with.

A little Rain-X keeps it fog free.
