Shaking and play in the rear end

I noticed that at certain speeds my truck shakes, it isn't in the front, and I checked everything out, the whole truck just shakes. Today I was looking things over and I pushed on the side of the truck on the bed rail just above the rear wheel and I can hear what sounds like the wheel/drum moving back and forth, like a bang bang bang as I push/pulled on the bed rail (think side to side, not up and down). Is this normal? it does it on both sides and I do not need to push hard to make it have the noise, almost like there is play in there.

I did just put new shoes and drums, and the lug nuts are tight.

Any ideas?

It's normal to have some end float on a c-clip axle. the shaking is more than likely wheel balancing.

Originally I thought it was wheel balancing too, until I pushed on the rear then it freaked me out. The tires are pretty well worn, close to the wear bars and need replacing so hopefully that is all it is.
