If I understand correctly, when I flip my rear hanger and shackle I will need a body lift or a hole in the bed because of how far the shackle extends up.

Has anyone ever tried mounting the rear hanger lower? For example, bolting the top hanger holes through the original bottom holes and using a piece of angle iron attached to the frame for the bottom holes.

Hopefully that makes sense.... good idea? :icon_confused:

no cutting is needed, it clears just fine. I have a friend with flipped shackle, stock bed. hes a member here.

Ok, then I'll try this with a belltech 6400 and see if it clears :icon_thumby:

i would break out a good ole fashioned measuring tape before i just dove in... w/ a belltech. i've seen the stock ones fit.

you also realize a flipped shackle w/ a longer shackle like that will lower your ride height right?

the beltec i think is a hardy har har
Huh? :icon_confused:

Anyhoo, yea I realize it will lower the truck but here's the plan:

Inverted shackle hanger = -2"
Belltech 6400 shackle = -1.5"
Lowered shackle hanger = +2"
6" skyjacker leaves = +6"

Total = +4.5" lift over stock and lots of travel :icon_thumby:

Obviously, some of these figures are estimates but I don't think they're too far off. This plan in the rear should match up pretty nicely with 6" SJ coils up front. What do u guys think?

sorry the reactivate this but, swtjames23 did you your or anyone else do this? this is my exact plan but i’ll be using the camburg shackles since i found a set locally

I’m just wondering if 4.5” was a pretty accurate guess and how did it do for travel?

I did something similar on my race truck. I'm not near my computer so don't have access to pics, but check my build thread linked below.

the picture shows them upside down, is the same as they are in my truck! I'm going to have my mechanic flip them so the shackles will be on the bottom.
