no. All this shitty weather has me ignoring anything outside. If it is warm next week, which i don't think it is going to be, I will put them on then. If not, I will get them on after my next trip to the gorge. We are going wheeling next weekend.
for some reason, the wheel studs stripped out the axle shaft, causing the lug nuts to loosen, and 4 of the 5 on the driver side rear to fail and snap off. I had a spare stock axle shaft that had a little twist in it, so i pulled the chromo, put the stocker in, and rode on. Then i snapped the stocker off in the diff. Called it a day.
Me too. 9" have the bearing and everything out at the end of the axle tube. I just have to remove the tire to remove the axle shaft instead of being able to just pull it out without removing it.
That's the one benefit to the 9" being semi float. I was gonna run that, but thought why pull the tire and brakes to get the shaft out, its more work. That's why I'm going with full floats from now on, 8 bolts and the shaft is out....
I'd love to have a 69 front and rear, but I'm poor. The half tonsies already have the axles, gears, and lockers, so that's what will be staying. Maybe one day I will go with something else. For now, these work. I need the exercise lugging that big ass tire around anyway.
