First off, please note that the rig was well built before i ever got it. Most of the work was done by the PO

When i bought the Ex, i wanted to make it my own. I seen an explorer on Explorerforums with a rattle canned desert tan paint job, and loved it, so thats what i decided on going with. Then i decided to step it up a notch... Why not dedicate it to the men and women serving this great nation?? So that is what the theme will be.

here are some action shots from the previous owner...

Yes, that is a juggy following the explorer :D

Here is a normal shot.

Plans are simple... Full cage, trusses, decorations, hydro assist, maybe more. We will see when that time comes.

Most updated shots will be posted here, as well as throughout the thread at the respective post.

As of 2/19/2012, Here she sits....

with the appropriate number of stars to reflect your service or your families

Another fantastic idea. I think this would be perfect for a windshield banner, as i plan to do one of those flag tints or whatever they are called on the back window.

I say put your unit on there somewhere, My Uncle was a marine in desert storm and he carved his Rank, name, Company and unit on the hilt and scabbard of a Ak-47 Bayonet

looks good. one thing tho...are those 40's bolted to that D44? that just seems like a bad idea to me. If youre light footed, all the power to ya!

i thought about doing that, but this isn't a tribute to me or my marine corps carrer, its for all service members. I know the Marines will be the most predominant service, but i would like to incorporate something with all the services.

39.5's. I was worried too, but now that i have the doubler, i usually don't have to get stupid with the skinny pedal. with being yukons, can't you have them replaced for free?

laugh, my f*cking, ass off.

You realize I took that first picture?

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Small freaking world my friend!

This is the rig i want all that Amsoil for.

Well, since you have seen it work in person, give me your take on it. Dan seems like a real great dude, i mean, hell, he is taking care of this thing and answering any question i have.

that is where his ride ended:thefinger:

there is a reason there is no more pictures of the Ex with me and the samurai:thefinger:

Not a bad rig, did OK at clayton. Our opinions of what needs to be done may be completely different.

well, that's not very promising....

well, that's not very promising....

it ran a bunch of the 4 trails. Green Momba extension is the trail you see it on in those pictures, which is a 6+... very badass trail... the only catch is we are running it in reverse which makes it a 5 at best.

The main issue the exploder had was being able to steer. Needs hydro badly. Other than that, its a really big rig to be running on that D44, I would suggest a D60 for the front. I don't think it had a doubler but it did have an automatic which helped out a ton.

I'll tell you this. My bronco, the red jeep, and the exploder were the only rigs that didn't break down right there on GME. He didn't bail out due to breaking, he bailed out due to knowing the limits of his rig... which is good, he didn't rag on it. Plus he stayed behind to help fix all of the broken rigs.

yea, i forgot to mention, hydro assist is a have to. I know its just a 44, but until i start snapping shafts all the time and everything, then i will most likely go 60 front. Especially if i ever do a v8. I watched all the videos of when he was out on Green Mamba going through the creek and that whole mess, but i think for the money (3500) its a great rig.

I am not a fan of the 4 link and leafs out back, but if they work how i want them too, I will keep them. If not, TJ coils out back is in store. As you can see, there are plans for it, but not immediate plans. I have started talking to Greg (97trailrigdd) to build the cage ASAP. the rattle can paint job and decorations will be quick and easy.

In the video, the steering was wining (imagine that, a stock RBV power steering pump with a cooler turning 39.5's making noise....) but i already have another siginaw pump like the one i bought off you

Edit:

He has since installed a DD machine 1354/1354 doubler and Hydroboost
