Getting ready to do a timing belt on my 95 2.3. I am going to replace both the idler and tension pulleys while I'm doing it. Are the pulley bolts right or left thread?? Also is it better to replace the entire tensioner or just the pulley?? The spring load on mine seems fine just a little squeaky.

Thanks

Bryan

I would just replace the pulley, when you take the belt off move it by hand to see if it has lots of spring.I usually spray penetrating oil in mine as preventive maintenance. They can sometimes be a bear to get the bolt out to replace. Can,t help with the threads as I can,t for the life of me remember.Good luck "Bryanp66"

Years ago, I brought my seized idler pulley to Napa, and they sold me a common replacement bearing that fit nicely inside my existing pulley. Less expensive, and has worked perfectly since then. Napa part # 6203-2RSJ for $11.49

Thanks guys. I found this same bearing in timken and national under part number 203ff. Much cheaper than buying complete pulleys!
