Who all works for themselves? What do U do? Do U involve the RBV vehicle in your work? Let's here from ya...
 
Newly Self employed, fabricator/off-road vehicle builder. I'm in the process of getting my business license/ state/federal ID number. I build off-road trucks, primarily RBV related. I'm in the R&D stage of a drop in RBV doubled/reduction box...

Currently a full time college student, part time musician, part time who knows what. I do odd jobs and make money as I can. I'm technically unemployed but getting by. I need a car that can do anything and I was sick of thrashing my very nice Accord I'm still paying money on. The new clutch alone for that cost $1024 (93k miles).

On any given day I might...

-go to school 4 miles away for my second degree in electrical engineering
-play a 4 hour gig on electric and upright bass, bring amps and a PA
-do a landscaping job
-do basic home repair-wood, drywall, paint, fixtures, water, electrical
-service a car (fluids, full checkup, fix any issues as money permits)
-transport large car parts
-transport a motorcycle
-move the tools and parts as necessary for a build
-install a car stereo
-pick up & service tube amplifiers
-buy/sell amps and instruments for profit
-take my 70lb (and growing!) german shepherd/greyhound mix to a dog park

None of that's good with an '07 leather (pain in the ass!) 3.0/6MT 4 door. It's saving me resale on my car and offering me more capability for odd jobs.

Until recently I worked for myself as a siding applicator/renovator. I used a 86 Ranger xcab 2.9/auto 2wd for about 3 years until the trans blew. I then went to a 97 f150 and now have a 04 f150. I still have the Ranger and plan on fixing it.
What about you?

Yep! See my sig line. Currently assembling a 2.3T, '88 Ranger as a runabout/parts chaser.
Otherwise it's a GMC 7000 or a GMC 5500, both with the same "Loose Nut" behind the steering wheel!
 
Self employed truck driver. I pull a wedge trailer with a 2000 f550 and have two other 7.3's as backup.

Oh yeah, I conduct soil suitability testing, do percolation tests, issue permits, inspect installations and I design on-lot septic systems. I'm always in my ranger off roading to some degree nearly everyday. I also have a 2500 Dodge Ram when I need to haul a lot of heavy stuff. Here's a pic of my trucks. I always have a water tank in the bed to haul water for percolation tests.

I was a self employed carpenter up till a year ago. I used my ranger for EVERYTHING, probably too much in some cases. My ranger looked pretty funny with a thirty foot aluminum staging pick on the track rack.
My old man still is a builder and rocks a 2000 2wd 4cyl. He's got a'01 f-250 Ex-cab 4x4 but hasn't used it more than a half dozen times in the last three years.

I'm sort of self employed. I do custom car interiors on the side at home, I paint at a collision shop during the day. I co-own LH Interiors LLC with my Mom, she does home interiors (drapes, pillows, blinds, etc), and I do car interiors.

I guess you could say I do stuff for RBVs..

I usually don't take in FULL interiors, I like to stick to just seats, at least until I get my shop finished, this car is taking up far too much space in my 2 car garage right now. I know this guy though so thats why I'm doing it for him.
 
Started my own business a few years ago taking down old TV towers. Discovered there was a small market for used towers and started refinishing them (sanding/painting) and installing them in residential areas so people could pick up free TV.

Still doing a bit of that, but also other odd (and I do mean ODD) jobs like hauling 700 lbs of kitty litter to the dump, putting up dog fences, cat runs and cages, building decks, garage lofts, and just about anything that doesn't require too much fine carpentry. Also insulate and finish garages and haul scrap metal.

My truck has taken a real beating over the last two years. Broke a spring shackle hauling about 800 lbs of fencing over a bumpy road. Most scrap metal I've hauled was about 750 lbs (didn't realize it till I hit the scales) and have done close to that a few times.

Not bad for an 80 HP carbureted engine that was wonky pretty much from the day I put it in...

Oh, yeah, and I built my Ranger from the ground up...pretty much a mishmash of parts from mostly Gen I but I've managed to squeeze in a few newer model parts...like my 95 Suzuki Sidekick rear view mirror...

I have a philosophy...if it works, looks close to the original, and doesn't cost as much as what is supposed to be there...I will use it...
 
Self-employed contractor. Mostly I try to focus on doing things like additions, custom sheds and retaining walls, but the way the economy has been I'll do just about anything to make a buck. Kind of helps that I know how to do it all, went to trade school for two years for Carpentry/Building Construction and been in the field since. Started out with my 2000 Ranger that I had bought new. Within the first couple years I had trashed the leaf springs so I built new custom packs, they'll handle a 1k load no problem. The last year I used it for work, I realized that it was way too small for my needs when I had to unpack half the bed to get to the stuff I needed for the job. That winter I slid it off an icy road (not on purpose!). So I upgraded to a 95 F-150 with the 300-6 motor for my work rig. For small jobs I have been guilty of piling all the stuff I'll need in my choptop and taking it for a spin.

Aside from that...

I'm also an author, just published my first book a couple weeks ago.

Also have played around with building websites. I've built one for a business other than my own, working on another for a different business right now, and I built one for a gaming clan.

I even play mechanic a little. Done a little bit of repair/modification for other people and I've played around with some repair/modification on lawn tractors too.

And this is why I needed a fullsize...

I owned a bar for 10 years. I used my 98 5.0 Explorer to haul liquor, snack foods, Paper goods. I also towed a trailer that I used for all the empty beer bottles. Cashing those in bought a lot of gas over the years. I ended up selling the bar as the economy was taking a dive and I figured it was time to get out. I went back to driving a truck for a living. I haul radar systems for SPAWAR. I get a lot more sleep now and am a lot more sober. Hell I hardly ever even drink at all now.
