all 7.5 axle housings, 2wd or 4wd, in the same year, are the same. no heavy duty 7.5 axle housing for the 4wd. am i right?
i read that 4wd frames are different from 2wd- stronger? thicker material? just more cross braces? but that all standard cab frames are the same regardless of year and all extended cab frames are the same, again, regardless of year
thinking about putting a dump kit on my 95. will have to modify any kit i buy. will stay with 2wd (cause it's what i have). are all ford dually rims the same? (5 bolt)?

There is no heavy duty version of the 7.5. To upgrade, you would be looking at an 8.8.

As far as the rims, I believe they were all 5 bolt by 4.5 inches but because of different hub sizes over the years, not all center bores are going to be the same. Some will be bigger than others and vice versa. You will need to pay attention to that for proper fitment.

83-97 wheels will all interchange and fit one another.

98-up the center bore on the wheels is bigger. So you can bolt a 98+ wheel onto any ranger. But you cannot use a pre-97 wheel on anything 98+.

I took a 2wd frame, and a 4x4 frame, and made them one frame. The only difference was the engine crossmember and where there were holes rusted through them.

2wd 14” rims have a smaller center bore, tried putting them on my box trailer and they wouldnt work , the 15”s however will work. Not that youd run 14”s but it’s something good to be aware of.
