I hate those stupid blue bulbs. Every time I see one a set behind me on the highway against the tail lights going the other way I think its a freakin cop.

At 80/100w they should be bright but they are also Illegal. Vehicles are only allowed 55/65w lights.

They shouldn't be too blue in color, they might have a slight blue tint but should be overall white.

I think those type of lights are a gimmick.

The glass is blue. It's a filter, blocking the other colors the bulb emits.

Plus, they are to high power to be street legal.

plus those lights might end up burnin up the harness...i dont know on rangers but my friend put those in her alero and it melted the harnesses to both headlights. i got silverstars and i like how they look. i think an h.i.d upgrade would be cool, but too expensive for my blood.

Those would be brighter at 80/100 watts. Most bulbs are rated at 55~75 watts. What you really want to look for is the Kelvin number (K). It is basicly the color temp the bulb burns at. Most old holagens will burn in the 2800~3200K. New holagens bulbs burn at a brighter 3500~3800K. And high performance holagen or xi-neon bulbs will burn at 4000~4200K. Ideally, you want a bulb to burn at 4300~4800K to get that crystal white light. Any higher, the bulb color burns more blue. And in the extreme, violet. HID's are whiter and brighter because they can easily burn at the higher kelvin while the old halogen is pushed to the extreme of burning the filiamet out to get the whiter color.

Nice whiter color light, very bright without blinding anyone, and legal. From what I have heard from others they last longer than Sylvania bulbs and from what I have seen personally (I compared them with a friend who had Silverstar bulbs) they are brighter too. I am very very happy with my bulbs and wont put anything else in any vehicle.

I say put em in. Screw it, half the guys comming the other way never turn off their fog lights anyway.:thefinger: So screw em I say and I usualy give them the high beam f-u anyway, pull back on the turn signal so both high and low come on, beam in their face, dumb @ss's never even turn em off. Pricks. Oh How I hate that.

Ok Finished with thread-jack rant.

Yea. Too bright. You could get a ticket for that.

I can also vouch for the Sylvania SliverStar Ultra's. I have them installed in both the Ranger and KLX motorcycle. As for the bulbs being able to take a beating is rated pretty good. The KLX is a dualsport, so I do off-road it every now and then. Have not changed the bulb and it is always on when the IGN is on.
