has anyone put like a bench seat in the bed of there pick up ?? i was thinking about doin that cuz ijm 90% sure you are aloud to have pll there as long as like the seat is bolted dowm and they have seat belts which i have but i just want some input if anyone has done that????

i have and as long as they have seatbelts its fine. ive been pulled over and all they said is that you should have at least 3/8" bolts holding it in.

ok cool ya i was goin to use half inch gr 8 bolts to hold it down, the only thing i cant figure out how im goin to do is to bolt one side down the gas tank is underneath that spot so im going to have to figure something out if i decide to put a seat in it would look pretty cool i think.

check with your state laws, evey state is different, iv seen lots of peaple do it. i had two sparco raceing seats in the back of my old ranger, had quick disconects so i could take them out quick.

ya i want to put a bench on quick disconnect cuz i have an atv that i have to put in the back sometimes, but what i want to kno is how did u make your seath quick disconnect? i cant figure out how

Check with your local cops and or the RCMP, i used to pass cops at 10Kmh over the limit with 4 people in the bed, and i never got pulled over. maybe i was just lucky.

And as far as i know in Canada as long as the ''passengers'' are not sitting in a non-safe (leaning on the tail gate, standing, sitting on the bed sides) way your fine.

Use a bench seat out of a minivan and get the connectors out of the floor at the same time. Third row seats get removed all the time so that might be an option. I am not sure how legal it is for you to have passengers back there even if they a belted in. Check the Highway Traffic Act.

It could become quite the mess in the case of a rollover accident. Mind you even rain would get miserable. You won't be able to quick disconnect the belts I don't think as they need to be bolted to the 'frame' and 'permanent'.

I've seen someone at a drag strip with an old bus seat bolted to their flatbed, I think it was an old Ford, can't remember. But I do remember seeing them go down the track a few times with people in the seat, not even wearing helmets! That drag strip is in the middle of BFE, and they don't really give a shit about how many people you have in your car, as long as they have a seat belt on, they are good to go. The guy driving didn't take it easy either, he pretty much hammered on it with them back there!

The expression on my face when I first saw it is pretty much summed up by this: :shok:

Oh god not this again....

This is one of the many controversial posts on the ranger station, many pages were deleted from another thread because people got into heated arguments over it.

Twitch did the same thing, and ended up taking the smart way out and buying a BII instead of endangering the lives of everyone who rides in the back.

The last thing you want to do it bolt seat belts to a frame if your bed comes lose your friends get crushed by the belts, always go to the body with body washers.
