seat upgrade

have a 90 ranger wit the dreaded 1 piece bench seat,am thinking about looking for a 60/40 seat out of a early 90s expolder,or bronco II,will these seats fit,or do i have to get creative and fabricate.

Don't do it!

I have the 60/40 seat and anything you set on the seat goes down in the hole. My seat is fabric and has gotten so nasty, you don't want to sit in it. I was thinking about converting to a vinyl bench seat.

If you have the bench with only 2 seat tracks the ones on the far outside you will have to drill 4 new holes to make either the split bench or bucket seats mount. Just put the 2 outside bolts in the outside track on each side and then mark where you need to drill the other holes based off the inside tracks holes.

I have the two piece bench with the center console and want to replace it for many of the same reasons! Will the older leather explorer seats or the 98 and newer ranger seats fit?

i agree about the split 60/40 seats they are crap. but if you get buckets make sure you measure the brackets first. i got some buckets from a 94 escort , the screw holes on the seat itself are longer and wider than my brackets from the 60/40 so i have to figure a way to attach the seats to 60/40 brackets. tomorrow im going to try and get a 3 inch wide plate of steel and drill the holes in it to attach the seats to brackets. hope it works lol the seats are very nice. if anyone has any suggestions please let me know whats worked for you thanks

The 60/40 seats are great, I don't know what all you guys are complaining about. When you pick up two hot girls for a night out you have room, but when a chick tries to bring along a fatty you only have two seats.

Although I do have to admit, it pisses me off how stuff slides back through the whole in the center when the arms up. I can never find it afterward because I don't think to check behind the seats.

mines just the base model ranger,so im a little aprehensive on what bucket seats will fit in there,especally with the headrest possibly hitting the back of the cab,thats why i though a 60/40 seat out of an explorer or a bronco II.
