Seat Frame to Seat Bolt Size.

On my 2009 Ranger standard cab, 60-40 seats, drivers side...
If any of you have done a seat swap using the original frame, do you happen to remember the size bolt that you removed...the bolt holding seat to frame...what size socket was used.
From some pic's I've seen it looks like there are 4 bolts holding seat to frame.
I want to keep my oe seat which is in new condition, but I want to raise it about 1 1/2 inches. It seems that I could use a longer bolt with spacers between the frame and seat to give me the lift I need.

On an extended cab you wouldn't be able to do it that way, because the front mounting points are angled down probably 45*. Does the regular cab have a flat pan?

I believe the bolts in my '99 use a 15mm socket, but no idea on the actual thread measurements.

10mm head on those bolts.

When did that change? The explorer donor I pulled my seats from had smaller bolts, but the stock ranger seat bolts were significantly bigger (I had to expand the holes on the seat track to bolt it to the ranger).

I'm not referring to the seat frame to floor bolts as yes, they do angle down and can't be raised.
I'm referring to the bolts that hold the seat to the frame.. Some photo's I have seen on used seats from e-bay show what appears to be bolts that are holding the seat to the frame.

Yes, there are definitely 4 bolts that hold the track to the seat frame. What I'm not clear on is what else gets out of alignment if you were to create separation there. For example, the attachment for the seat back is integrated to the frame, so raising the seat would pull it away from that attachment point. I'm not sure how to handle that, and what other issues you'd run into.

Thanks...that kind of answers my inquiry as I won't be able to go with my idea. I thought the entire seat would detach from the frame, but if the seatback mounting is part of the frame, no can do.
Thanks for the photo. I'll do a bit more research to see if the 2009 frame is any different from your 1999.
I may have to go with "Plan B" to add a layer of denser foam to the seat bottom.

That picture's from a few days ago when I tried to swap my seat tracks onto a set of Explorer seats. I didn't know going in how integrated the track would be - based on previous comments about just swapping them out, I'd gotten the impression that it was basically four bolts and nothing to it. Perhaps that was true at some point, but at least by '99 there's a lot more to it. I ultimately stepped back and punted to doing the complete Explorer seats and retaining those tracks. I wish it were as simple as you and I each thought it would be, because I might try to raise mine up too.

I pulled up a schematic of the 2009 Ranger seat track and seat from a Ford parts web site, and the one listed for the 2009 looks different from your 1999.
I may just take some time and pull my left front seat out and see for myself what I may/may not be able to do.

Saw a lot of newer 60/40 seats, with the frame for sale on e-bay...that's where I got the idea about using spacers to raise the seat. In several adds bottom is shown and you can clearly see 4 bolts holding the seat to the frame.
If/when I remove mine, I will take some photos for those interested.
The more I look at this stuff, the seat parts diagram, the more it looks like the seat bottom pad is attached to a platform, which in turn, is bolted to the frame, which is in turn bolted to the floor. Does not look like the seat back attaches like the 1999.
It looks a lot different than the parts diagram for your 1999...may have been a change somewhere along the model changes.
Will let you know what I find out.
