I’ve seen plenty of folks putting on some pretty nice covers and adding foam underneath, but has anyone reupholstered the seat or replaced the foam? My seats are quite grimy and have probably spent some time soaked. Don’t want to redo the interior and have these thing stink up the new stuff. I’ve found reupholstery fabric for $300 and up, which is fat from $100 seat covers. I’ve yet to find precut foam.

Having seats reupholstered for an old truck, is the most expensive way to go. If your rebuilding something you want people to drool over, it's probably on the cheaper side of interior work. If you just want nice seats for a regular truck, you might be able to find something out of a different Ranger/Explorer that are better than your current ones for about $20 each, for bucket seats and another $20-50 for a center console if you don't have one already.

WellI guess that explains why I haven’t seen it anywhere on here. I just find it odd that covers are are at least 1/3rd the cost of reupholstery sets. The fabric on these seats doesn’t seem especially heavy or nice.

Yup. I'm with Ranger850. Much simpler to just bolt in a new-used set of buckets.

I used to work next to a furniture reupholster. they said the cost of the material isnt the expensive part, but the more expensive the material, the more tedious they have to be, so that drives the labor costs up. I wanted to have my seats reupholstered with "Sunbrella" fabric, they were willing to do it, I just didn't want to wait. I may revisit the idea someday, but until then, I'll just keep swapping out old seats for newer seats. I'm actually thinkin some Fusion or Focus seats at some point.

Hey Bro. Go to LMC Truck and order you a complete set. I did and they look and feel awesome. Shoot me a text at 601-519-2555 and I'll send some pics of them installed. Name's Mike

Those do look pretty good. They may be a bit hot in the summer... but I like vinyl for doing truck stuff.

So did you buy complete seats... or a reupholster kit?

original seats, but had my local shop beef up the foam and install vinyl Upolstry. Set was 465.00. I think and shop charged me 600 for their work and install my set. It was a little more than I wanted to spend, but wanted to keep OEM seats. I didn’t want to go back to cloth since this is my work transportation truck, other sits in garage. Vinyl is easier to clean

I would do the seat cover option. Your local shop can just pull the old off and install the new and repair any foam that needs it. This option from LMC is just as good or better than having a shop make everything then install. These are some heavily made covers with many layers underneath heavy duty vinyl. LMC also has OEM fabric sets as well.

Those look really nice. The edges aren't going to shred like seats do in vehicles since the mid 90s
