Seat Belt Plug?

Whats the plug for under the drivers seat? Is there suppose to be 12v going to it or what? Is it a seat belt reminder because the light on the dash comes on the goes off almost immediately? Its a 90 extended cab

Could be for the seat belt minder, or maybe for power lumbar seats (I think they were available as far back as '90).

Sorry yeah should've mentioned that it's a 90. It's an extended cab but what I find werid is when I got it, the truck was a custom model with the normal non power 60/40 seats. If it is the seat belt minder, how does it work? I can't find any info on it at all

Its for the power lumbar. My 88 Bronco 2 has the plug and power lumbar, seat plugs into that plug.

Are you sure? They are non power seats and there's absolutely no buttons on it. It plugs into the seat belt buckle on the drivers seat

Seat belt buckle would be for the belt minder (it dings for several seconds right after the ignition is switched on/engine started if the belt isn't latched into the buckle).

That's what my power lumbar seats are plugged into, so yes I'm sure. Probably also operates the stupid seatbelt chime and light too, probably a multi-function plug as that's the only plug under the seats on my bronco 2 and there's one on the driver's and one on the passenger's seat.

I was always under the impression that the set of wires in question were an emergency kill plug for the fuel pump... guess i may have been mislead.

(not talking about the inertia switch, different bird altogether)

The easiest way to tell is by the wire gauge;

• Large enough to run an electric motor/air pump=power seat circuit *
• Smaller (like a marker light)=Belt minder

*No worries if your truck doesn't appear to have that option, harness are often universal

Anyone know where to start to make it ding again? My key in the ignition and lights on key not in the ignition ding work just not the fasten your seat belt. Light comes on in the dash then goes out after like a second.
