Any solvent can kill your engine at idle. That stuff does work. I used it in my moms Rodeo that didn't have enough compression to run. Dumped a can in the oil, turned it over, and it got the rings to unstick enough to gain enough compression to run again. Seeing that I used it in my wifes T-bird (4.6) and ran it around for 10-15 minutes before changing the oil. Well, it cleaned the innards enough to get a low oil pressure light to come on at idle while warm, so now I have to change the oil pump in it before selling the car, lol. Seafoam also reminds me of GM Top Engine Cleaner, and that stuff works great, and you use it the same way. Suck it up a vacuum line. Let the engine die and let it sit for a few minutes. Have fun starting it up. Have even more fun mosquito fogging your neighborhood.
