Seafoam

DId the seafoam treatment to my truck. I pulled a plug before, and then after....I suggest all do this. its impressive...all black and nasty before, and clean/normal after...(I pulled one on the exhaust side of my 2.3L dual plug head.)

anywho, truck idles better, and seems to have a bit more pep...I'm shocked actually I didn't think it'd do a whole lot. but it seems to run smoother, and have a little more get out of the way power.

highly recommend.

FWIW I used a vac. hose coming out of the intake mani near injectors...going to a charcoal canister. pulling the brake booster line killed the engine so went for a smaller hose.

its supposed to kill the engine, you have to manual throttle it while under the hood and get the flow of fluid started, then let it kill the engine, give it 10 minutes and then start it back up. if it doesnt kill the engine then let it suck some fluid and then shut it off,. same effect.

Ya you gotta coat the intake vales and cylinders good with it. If you spray it in with a spray bottle or sip it in slowly just idleing it wont work. make sure theres a good air tight tube hooked to the pcv, use the throttle @ the throttle body to pull in lots of it at once with about 3 or 4 gulps of half a can then turn off the motor quick and let it sit.

I could keep the engine alive once pulling the brake booster hose...it was instantaneous.

I may try again keeping it at WOT when pulling hose, but I don't care that much...this is my "beater" so not a huge deal to me...esp since based on the plugs it already cleaned things up a bit.

Try squeezing the booster vac hose with a pair of pliers to keep it from dying... When you need to suck in the Seafoam just release your grip a little on the pliers and introduce the product...

I'm debating putting this in my 95 B2300... It could use a cleaning, but I'm afraid that the seafoam will eat away at all the gunk that's holding everything together .
So I'm assuming that I should probably only do the brake-booster thing and not the crankcase (it has 223K miles on it).
What do you all think?

What I did, and what the video shows too, is I put a 3rd into the vaccum system through the brake booster line, shut the truck off yada yada, put a 3rd into the crankcase, and the rest into the fuel tank. It worked out pretty decent for me, gained 2mpg and the truck runs better.

i tryed it today poured it into brake booster line SLOWLY and shit it off... let it sit for 5- 6 mins.. and when i started it up very little smoke.. now you guys said when you pulled the brake booster line off it killed then engine... mine would and probally can idle all day long with that vaccum line no where near the brake booster

well i did it too days ago, it idles better and has abut more pick up , butt it takes about 2 seconds more to start it, any ideas? could it be the spark plugs? i hear they get dirty after a sea foam some times?

To answer Cyberbeer question as to how to use seafoam on small engines, they have a product called seafoam deep creep which is seafoam in an aerosol can. Usually I take the air filter off, bring the speed up and spray it right down the throttle body into the carb.

Also if you are not going to use a piece of equipment for a while you can fog the engine with it so it won't cease and will . To do this spray seafoam deep creep down the throttle body until it stalls. I have done this with all my small engines and have never had a problem starting them after storage.

had a 90 f250 diesel sitting in a field for well over 2 years went out with an air bubble, jump box and a can of seafoam fire that b right up smokin like all hell but ran fine. best money can buy.

Instead of the brake booster I actually put mine into a spray bottle and sprayed it into the throttle....until I discovered a new "Ranger Don't" which I posted on my list.

I hold the engine at 3000 rpms and slowly suck the whole can in then let the car sit about 15 minutes and then drive it down the highway.

forgive me for sounding dumb.... but i thought this was only added to the gas tank... like B12 or Lucas?
