First my thoughts and prayers go to all the families.

What the hell is wrong with people today? I think there should be an armed Security Officer in every school. When will this kind of stuff end? I am at a loss to guess the root problem of why these kind of shootings happen. What is going wrong in people's minds?

Lack of parenting. And in this case it seems that the shooter was after his mother, who was a teacher there and is presumed to be among the dead.

They have a special place in Hell for SOB's like that. I can't begin to imagine what those families are feeling.

Very sad...but I will say that Obama looked like he was actually pretty shook up about it...maybe just a good actor, but I think this hit a nerve with him...never seen a President cry before...at least not that I can remember...

I don't care how bad your life is or what you're going through, there is no reason to do something like that to innocent people and kids for God sake. From what I have heard he also killed his father at their house before having his brother drive him to then school.

the definition of pure evil.

there is no stopping shit like this. potentially minimize it ...

armed guards cant stop it either...potentially minimize sure, wont stop it though...

in the 80's we had security and metel detectors in a few of the schools i went too. but there were still guns in the school. thankfully no mass murders.

cant express enough the horror and heartbreak this does.

it hurts and i dont know any of them. i have kids 23 years down to 7 and one grand child and i can not phantom shit like this at all.

****ed up people do ****ed up shit.

burning in hell is too kind for that lost pos.

we cant grieve and pray enough for these families including the shooters.

Events like this make me glad I was home schooled. The media is a mess right now and I can't believe the people who still want to take away guns from citizens are going to use the fact that the guns were legally owned and some people on the radio directly blaming rifle clubs and the NRA. All we can do now is sit at home with our loved ones and pray that every night ,we will all be safely at home.

Think about it Mark. No matter what else the man may be he is still a man and a parent above all else. He even said in his address to the media that he was not speaking as a President but as a parent.

The shooter should only be called that. Calling him by his name is what he wanted even in his death. His father and brother live in a different area and cooperating with officials.
Words cannot explain the sadness I`m feeling my first thought was if the shooter was dead. Then I thought why, I`m still wondering.

a home schooled guy could do this.....hell some freak may seek out home schooled people and start a serial killing campaign....:dunno: that would scare home schooled people...

who knows.....i legally own several vehicles....and hammers and i could easily kill this many people with those tools. but i am not a fawktard like that poor pos.

when i hold my firearm the first thing on my mind has nothing to do with killing innocent helpless people.

This happened relatively close to me. Its such a damn shame that people could do this...

Back in the old days schools had the perfect deterrent....it was a copy of the 10 commandments that was in the lobby of every school in the South.

There wasn't a sign out front of every school listing things that were prohibited on school property---wasn't needed!

Believe it or not......lose respect for God/lose respect for innocent people

I remember in high school most of us had rifles or shotguns in our trucks depending on which hunting season we were currently in. We never had any problems with gun violence, maybe because people knew that if one or a few people walked in and tried starting anything they were completely outnumbered by gun owners at the school. I think show of force is a pretty good deterrant to crimes like this, at least the gunman killed himself don't have to waste money and time on a trial. That still does not make killing innocent adults and kids ok by any means. I'm not a parent, but when someone hurts kids it just makes my blood boil, how could anyone hurt a child.

How about hiring some military veterans to be guards at their local schools? They're already highly trained for the job, and probably quite a few would even just volunteer, I know I would in a heartbeat especially if it meant knowing kids in school were safe.
