The Rat's is a couple oil checks from rusting in 2. If it is a pan off job, I will bodge something. :D

Remove
bolt in exhaust manifold and then twist and remove

It might not be a bad idea to drop the pan first, just to drain it, since the fluid level is very high when the engine is off.

Beyond that it is a matter of finding and removing the bolt that holds the tube to the engine, it is usually either a bell housing bolt, or somewhere on the passenger exhaust manifold, and then pulling.

And the word is botch.

I always say "finagle" when I have to "make" something work lol.

Shouldn't be a pan-off job required bodging (pretty sure that's common term over the pond)

UNLESS - the bottom of the tube is rusted and rusted into the pan so it twists off instead of pulling out.

So, when you've undone the bolt, pull on the dip tube with some enthusiasm, but it it is stubborn, maybe apply some PB Blaster or something and plant on changing the oil soon if you figure it got contaminated...

Good luck!
