Schaffer ranger rebuild.

I bought this truck in October of 2010. I had a 2wd Dakota,then a scumfire. When I got a new job I decided I wanted a new truck. Was looking at rangers and Dakota's. It had to be 4wd,ext can and a stick. I goin this ranger local for a good price

A 1998 ext cab,4.0 with a five speed. This one had a body lift and 33s.
After looking at it I knew i had to have it. The only option to my knowledge that it dosen't have is a limited slip rear and fogs

Took it out,got it dirty,blew it up, cleaned it up ad drove it for a few months. Here's some random pictures

Truck rolled backwards while in gear and blew the intake mani apart.(dont ask)

Somewhere in there I put Hellas on the bumper and a thrush muffler coming out infront of the back wheel.
 
I drove the truck up until the summer. I started the police academy in July of 2011. I was driving 50 miles round trip and driving 5 days a week so I bought this subaru.

At this point the truck became a wheeling rig. I had the car so I didn't care much of the truck was broke. It took a pounding and a half. Never once did it die or leave me stranded. That was unless I pushed it where it wasn't meant to go. Shredded a few cv axles,the wheel bearings and tie Rods.

Then I got to close with the car while I was out shooting and kissed a tree. It broke out the side window and back window. The rear wheel arches were fairly rusted causing enough flex to push the back pillar and the back window shattered.

Still shot about 100 rounds that's day even tho I was an idiot.

The car had 227k on it. Burned oil and would stall sometimes,that and the rust. I paid 1500 for it,so spending 400 bucks on new windows and doing body work wasn't worth it to me. I scrapped the car and decide to put the money into my truck.

I had plans on slowly fixing the truck over time but loosing the car accelerated my plans.
I already had the carpet ripped out and was going to bedline the floor.

Seats out and prepping.sprayed it flat black and going to roll on some bedlinet eventually.

Most of the past two days have been spent goin over the truck to get it inspected.
I replaced all four ball joints about a month ago with moog stuff. Both wheel bearings were done(one was under warranty) did tie rods that needed to be done.also permanently locked the hubs while I was in there.

Also tackled the surface rust on the frame and everywhere else.

Daily drive it!
