I recently installed this bad boy.
59273

My issues are with vacuum tube that comes off the tiny nipple on the big cylinder.

1. I have no idea what that line does. and I need to replace the line,

2. I found where the line went to. A weird sensor?? it had 02811 stamped on the side.

3. there is another port with no tube installed. where does that tube go?

Thanks so much in advance !!!!

Ok, it sounds like you may have installed the part wrong. Did you put it back in line with the heater hoses like the original one, or did you throw it in the trash and put bypass fittings in to bridge the now missing length of hose? If you did the first one you did it wrong.

Those bypass valves are stupid. They do basically nothing to improve AC performance and add like 5 extra potential leak points. They also get stuck in one position.

Friend,

Im sorry. Im not really following what you are saying. Prolly cause I didnt state my issue correctly. or maybe not :)

its the vacuum tubes that go from this
59280

into the engine bay
59281

one tube attaches here
59282

I do not know where the other tube connects in the engine bay. I have a section of one of the tubes.

Hope this helps. Sorry I know a little about a lot but not near enough. :)

The Black vacuum line, in the cab, runs to the Vacuum reservoir in the engine bay, using another Black vacuum line

The White vacuum line changes to GREY in the engine bay, it goes to the bypass valve

The black line is the Source that feeds vacuum to the climate control selector, it operates the Vents in the cab, i.e. defrost, panel, floor
Defrost is the default, no vacuum = defrost only for air flow

Only in MAX AC setting is the White hose is used, selector sends vacuum to the Fresh Air Vent, which closes it, so recirculates air in the cab, so already cooled air is RECOOLED instead of HOT air from the outside being cooled, so MAX Cooling
It also closes Bypass valve via the grey line, this cuts off hot coolant flow thru the heater core which is INSIDE the cab, so core can cool off and not add to heat in the cab

I doubt the cutting off of coolant flow thru heater core helps cooling that much, and as adsm08 said, certainly not enough to warrant the trouble spots it ADDS to the system, lol

The by-pass is not required for any other purpose except in MAX AC
So can be deleted
And no its not a vacuum leak

Where is the vacuum reservoir? And the bypass? In the engine bay. @RonD

Vacuum reservoir is the "big black ball" located passenger side front of engine bay down low, sometimes have to get under truck to see it, just in front of wheel well

Looks like this: https://www.ranger-forums.com/attachments/general-technical-electrical-18/32582d1327187830-hvac-temp-control-unit-starting-go-vac%20reservoir.jpg

On the right is the passenger side wheel well, front side
One hose goes to firewall, hooks to black line in your pic
Other hose goes to engines vacuum manifold, source of vacuum

The black and grey lines

Thanks @RonD you got me sorted out again.

im posting another question to the forum. Thanks I’m advance if you keep an eye out
