So I'm ready to start mocking up my solid axle!!!! I have one question. Where have you guys centered up your axle? Should I center it in the wheel wells? If I were to measure from the center of the body mount under the doors how far should I set the center of my axle? Any advice and all help is appreciated! This is the one part where I am scratching my head. I just have no clue. Thanks in advance!

I moved mine up 2.5" or so inches from stock. Figure out where stock is, then move it as far forward as possible without having track bar and steering problems. This will keep your front tires out of your firewall during compression and give you a better approach angle. But you can only go so much due to space constraints and a steering box that is bolted down

wheel base...usually leave the rear in place and check and square frame if possible. plot from there....depending on suspension style, make fixtures to facilitate mach ups.

Thanks guys! Yeah I did a bunch of head scratching and didn't get any replies soon enough. So I just went with stock wheel base and got er all bolted in. Looks like I need to do some fender trimming but other than that everything fits pretty good. Gonna do some flex testing tomorrow and measure for shocks. While I'm at it I'm going to see if anything needs moved or trimmed for clearance.

good deal.:icon_thumby:

once you do a few...well. ...ya know... its not rocket science.
