SAS came sooner than i thought.

So the other night i blew up my front end in the snow,the front drive shaft spins but the front tires barely do and make a horibble constant clicking sounds so i guess my SAS is going to come sooner than i thought..now im on the prowl for a dana 30.

sounds like ya blew a hub.....or maybe the spiders....

a D35 TTB would be stronger than a D30....just so ya know...

x2 on blowing a hub.

hubs seem to be a common problem on ttb axles
If yours is an '88 you might have a dana 28, in which case a dana 30 would be a better axle.
IMO, a dana 30 solid axle is equal in strength to a dana 35 ttb, I almost went that route until I found a deal on a dana 44.

The only benefits of a dana 30 is the width, and the bolt pattern, i.e. you get to keep your rear axle, but if you have the 7.5", definitely replace it.

yes i know the dana 30 isnt as strong as the dana 35 but i have a dana 30 available to me and i dont plan on doing alot of wheeling maybe some mall crawling and a trail every once and awhile.

BTW is there any good gen 1 dana 30 SAS builds on TRS i cant really find any and the tech lib. isnt really specific.
