My credo
the grey-t escape
i know "prices vary" yada, yada, ect, but im wondering what to expect (ballpark) i need the drivers side beam, with the knuckle & differential installed for my '93. its a 373 ratio, so that part shouldnt be too hard to find. if nothing else, just a good straight beam & knuckle would get me back on the road again. im not even sure i need the diferential, but after the "incident" it was leaking gear oil & may very well have a cracked case.

when I got the d35 from the JY it was $140 but that was also with a core charge of like $30 bucks. Since your only the driver side beam it should only be around $60 or so.

find a u pull it or pull a part...
i can get the entire front axle for like $60 here

wow! i should take a road trip, only local yard that had one wants 200 for a drivers side only ttb with diff, and thats if i go out & remove it myself!

Major rip off. :annoyed:

$92 with tax and not bringing back a core up here and that's regardless of front axle my D60 was $92.

If you DO want to take a road trip, I'll sell you my extra driverside w/ 3.27s for $50.

found me one closer, had the hybrid 28 diff in the 35 housing, swapping my diff into it,turns out my case is good, just a badly twisted beam. the $200 one was a hybrid axle also, but his one was complete, even had a tire & rim. should have it back together tommarrow. finnally got used to dads superduty, my ranger is going to feel like a golf cart when im back in it.

Down in Pres. Bush land a jy here sells any axle for $50! Is that worth a road trip for you?

Sent from the road while ignoring traffic

well, i woulda, but needed to get the ranger back on the road just as soon as possible.

Glad you guys have cheap prices. Yards here will only sell the entire ttb and they want $300+.

I've talked with a couple yards about buying axles or parts of them, most around here want $150-250 per axle, but some of them I've managed to beat down on price when I've needed it. When I changed gear ratios in my F-150, they gave me a price of $200 per axle. I beat them down a bit then wandered out in the yard to look for some things. Came back in the office later and sat down to dicker a bit more on things. Ended up taking most of the day (had some beer with the guys running the yard), but I got the axles for what I wanted. Some yards are non-negotiable though, so I tend to avoid them.

But making friends at a yard is usually a good idea, off at college I managed to make friends with the owner of the one yard - it was one of those that you don't get to pull your own parts, but since I made good friends with the owner, I got to pull my own parts and even got to use their shop with the lifts from time to time. I even got to strip out a wrecked BII, $150 and I got to take anything I wanted except the rims, tires and computer.... so I took everything except the frame, shell and seats (which were junk) and I do mean I took everything - entire drivetrain, glass, doors, hatch, steering box, etc. Then I used their shop to put the engine in my choptop, lol.
