salt lake city, utah

well we hope you move on down here, about once a month or so we utah trs guys meet up, have some dinner and hang out for a couple hours

*cough, blackbII, *cough shane....

lol.

I'll show up one of these times...maybe when we get the banner. :icon_thumby:

utah gets a bad rep for the mormons. like i said less than 20% of our population is. that was not the case 10 or 15 years ago. it has mostly been diluted by those who are flocking here because it is a great place to live despite the inaccurate reputation
i understand that bad experiences have been had by out-of-towners in the past. couple that with the bad reputation, and a really jaded perception is what you get.
salt lake has been evolving especially the past decade.
and btw iirc the mormon per-capita population of the state of idaho is within a few percent of utah's

if a person wants to believe that utah=mormons, and mormons=(insert inaccurate perception here), despite being wrong on not one but both counts. there's nothing i can say to help

Well said. I think you'll really find this to be true if you decide to move here. :icon_thumby:

Salt lake city is a long ways away from Salina.

Salina is about the creepiest town in Utah, next to Panguitch or Mona.

SLC is just like any other big city, and the mormons aren't all that noticeable unless you watch the local news or hang around temple square on Conference weekends, or even go to WalMart on sunday. They are all in their sunday best doing some shopping. :icon_bounceblue:

LOL Well, apparently I know how to find the weird towns then. I never said Mormans were weird or anything though, my Uncle is the Bishop of a Mormon Church in St. Paul, MN and his family is Mormon.

Interesting. Like BlackBII said, Salina is probably 150-160 miles from SLC. I think this is probably typical of a small town that doesn't get a lot of "out-of-towners". Stop in SLC, and I can almost guarantee that's not going to happen.

Well, normally I take the 15>70 and drive through CO but I suppose so I can't judge the entire state off of 2 cities, next time I drive through UT I'll take the 15 to the 80 and across Wyoming. ;)
