Saginaw on 2.9?

Just curious here, but I've seen a lot of Saginaw p/s pump swaps onto the 4.0 bracket... what I'm wondering is has anyone done it on the 2.9? I'm sure someone has, or knows more about it than I do. I did a search but didn't find what I was looking for, so here I am. Also looked in the tech library, but of course, it was only the 2.3 and 4.0 from what I saw. Does the 4.0 bracket fit the 2.9? I wouldn't imagine it would, as the 4.0 has the self-tensioner, whereas the 2.9 you have to manually tension. So, as mentioned, anyone know (before I tear into it...) if the Saginaw pump will mount up to my 2.9 p/s bracket in the same way? And if not, am I going to have to modify a 4.0 bracket or something to fit on there? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks guys!

go to my build thread, find my Hydro steering section. or look in the TRS magazine for my pump swap info. i put a saginaw on the bracket you're talking about.

putting a saginaw pump onto a 2.9 bracket should be easier as the 2.9 bracket is sheet steel versus the cast aluminum bracket used on the 4.0.

I've done it, it's easy, the only thing I had to do is slightly re-bend the HP hose

I don't have an Autozone around here. Just local parts stores, and they want close to $300 for it. It's not like I NEED it, would just be nice to have, so I'll wait 'til I can find one at a local yard.
