So im on my way to work yesterday driving down the wonderfully straight roads we have here in wv (about as straight as Elton john maybe) and i notice my steering was getting loose coming out of turns didnt think much of it drive a little bit further and it gets worse so finally i decide i should pull over, i know thers a pull off in about 1/4 mile so i slow down a bit and as i come around a kiss my asser right before the pull off, something lets loose i cant steer the trucks siting sideways making one hell of a noise:icon_confused:..so i get it off the road first thought, damn wheel bearing came apart... turns out the rear passenger side tire fell off! no center cap no lug nuts just the tire laying in the ditch so to make a long story a bit shorter my question is is it likely that all five lugs came loose at the same time and how could they turn because the centers go over the lugs :icon_confused:... just seems suspicious do to some resent events we wont go into lol... any thoughts on the subject?

well those recent events may be the answer, cuz ive never seen that

I think you might be looking for sabotage or vandalism. Arson is an intentionally set fire. :D

oops.. our vocab runs a few pages shy up in theese here parts lol... as for the wheel i lost well its just hard to say ima gonna do some poking around and see what i come up with i have a few suspects and people like to talk alot in small towns... on the suspects behalf they better pray that i dont find out... because paybacks are a bitch! :buttkick: haha

i couldnt see all five coming loose in the same trip, unless you had the tire off for one reason or another

That was the only reason mine *almost* came off. Luckily I was just about to pass a junk yeard when my truck started wobblin' like crazy. I pulled in and noticed I only had one lug nut left haha.

eh, I drive with bad steering, if it happens to me, I'll definatly let you know!

I have only ever seen one wheel wobble off..

On my friends Sonoma, Got a flat tire in the parking lot, conveniently enough getting the last few supplies to finish cleaning out his truck. UNconveniently, having cleaned his truck completely out, the jack was still at home. For some reason his tool box was still in there, thankfully)

The best he could do was a piece of 2x4 out of a dumpster and some cinder blocks. he got it lifted just barely enough to get the wheel mostly on, and tightened down the lug nuts as tight as he possibly could.

But yeah, couple miles down the road (and it happened quick mind you) about as soon as he said "wait a sec, something's going on" pheewww, wheel shoots off down the road.

I had a honda prelude that had to get towed for work and some how when I got it back THREE of the four studs had been sheared off the front passenger tire. I start feeling a wobble so I go to turn left... I turn left tire keep rolling down the road. Bonus I get out so mad I kick the fender and break my big toe.

I fixed it for you.

I have difficulty believing that with the "snap on the lugnuts" centercaps
that the lugnuts could work loose by themselves.

I know of three people who had this happen to them. They lost a wheel on the road. All of them had done there own tire rotations just before they lost a wheel and I really think they got in a hurry and did not torque the lug nuts down as they should have. Now..if you use an air or electric impact you are less likley to do this. None of my buddies used an impact when they did the rotation and used their lug wrench. I can see something like this happening. If somebody tried to steal your tires and got nervous and left this is possable......

thank for the fix allan! haha those are some interesting storys as is mine... may never find the truth... i did have the wheels off about a month na half ago to put on brakes everything was tightend well before puting the cap on besides i belive it woulda came loose a long time ago, iv had the wheels off the truck a hundred times and never have had a wheel fall off.... act of god maybe but unlikely on the bright side it didnt tear to much shit up just a groov on the drum and some scratchs on the rim

So you prolly oughta make a police report..... just to cover your ass. If its that small of a town, they might hear something too and take care of it well enough to keep you outta trouble.
