Hi all, I had to replace my air-conditioning condenser and decided to replace the radiator deflector, that doesn't have the lower half. Of course I bought the wrong one. I'm wondering, would it be a problem to run without the radiator deflector long-term, in a very warm climate? I'm asking because I can find another one, but it will cost me a bunch, and to install it I'll have to drain the radiator again. Thanks!

Yeah, that's it.

it could over heat without it, it will run cooler with the shroud.

You can try it if you have a decent temp gauge. But the shroud keeps the fan from drawing air from around the fan blades, and makes it draw air through the radiator instead.

I would try it if mine broke and i didnt have the money to replace it yet.

I had plenty of vehicles with no shrouds back in the 90s and early 2ks

@yuriklan
Do what you can to fab up the lower portion. The shroud makes the fan significantly more efficient!?

Thanks for the advice, folks. I'll try to get the money by selling the wrong one that I've bought.

You can also make inw with some flat thin tin from the hardware store
